Dear Reader,
Thank you for joining me for a conversation on this October Sunday! Would you like coffee or tea today? I also have some ice water or hot chocolate if you prefer.
If we were having beverages together I would tell you…I returned from camping with my husband on Wednesday evening. We spent several days in Silver Bay, MN. We were not ready to leave, but our reservations were up. The trails were beautiful and the views were mesmerizing. I love Lake Superior and the rocky cliffs. A couple of years ago Chris attended a writers’ retreat with me in Superior, WI along a different shore of the lake. It was snowy then but just as beautiful. There is something about being outside for several days that resets you in a way nothing else does. Chris and I hiked 10 miles a day which was fun. One day was lots of stairs. Another day was a grassy trail with a lake at the end! There were more trails to explore so we will have to come back. There are three state parks in this area quite close together.
If we were having beverages together, I would tell you… today is Soup Sunday. I am making broccoli cheese soup today after we go for our regular breakfast. We also have to pack today for the Florida trip we are leaving for on Tuesday. Tomorrow, we have family coming for dinner, and I have to go to the dentist. It is a drive but I will listen to some podcasts and make notes for writing. I need to think of some more questions for my last 100 day project.
If we were having beverages together I would tell you…yesterday was a day that was not about catching up from trips. I wrote in the morning and read. I also took myself on an artist date. Do you take these? Where do you like to go? You can read about my writing crawl here if you missed it:
If we were having beverages together I would tell you…..my asynchronous courses and e-books are available. Find the link here.
If we were having beverages together I would ask you…what your goals are for winter? I have been thinking a lot about this season this past week. There will be less travel for me and I want to reread notebooks and set some revision protocols in place for myself.
I would also ask you what you are reading. I am reading this book:
Her essays inspire me to write in response in my notebook.
You can find her Substack here:
Thank you for joining me today.

Beautiful pics and description! Definitely a little jealous of your getaway.
I’m reading Weyward by Emilia Hart. I agree that nothing resets your mind like nature. It shifts our perspective to a more magnificent view. I’ll have a Starbucks Mocha on ice for my drink. Cheers!!
