15 Days Remain in 2024
A Question and an Image to Spark Creativity during the #last100days2024
Welcome to my #last100dayproject!
There are 15 days left in 2024. Happy Llama Tuesday!
Thank you to those who attended the Full Moon Write-In last evening! It was such a great time and we all got some words down.
I am ending my fast today which I began on Sunday morning after breakfast. I am never upset when I complete a fast. The longest fast I have done is 100 hours. Have you done any intentional fasting?
Part of my new routine is to reread old notebooks. I was reading my writings from a Colorado retreat last evening looking for a story I know is in there. I need to revise it for a prompt in SmokeLong Fitness.
It is striking to observe yourself from two years ago. I drew some conclusions about myself as if I am a character in one of my stories. It is fun to see how I wrote about people I met at that retreat who I am still friends with too!
I also noted I had nightmares almost every night I was there. I do not recall that fact when I think back to that trip. I made notes to myself to not record them so I couldn’t be tortured with them later. I am happy that my past self made that decision.
Today’s question: Morning pages? Yes or no?
Julia Cameron’s 12-week creativity recovery program The Artist’s Way is another polarizing topic for writers it seems. Have you done this program? Morning pages are 3 pages of stream of stream-of-consciousness writing to start your day. The artist's date and walks make up the three pillars of the program that are consistent through the 12 lessons.
I have taken myself through it numerous times and I have done the book with a group. I have taught this book several times in my community. One time we did a “lite” version. Morning pages tend to make me angry over the course of the program. I also am not a fan of the questions in Week 2! I have answered them many times.
There is a follow up book called Vein of Gold but it doesn’t have the same power of TAW for me.

For the last 100 days, I invite you to join me and experiment.
Each day for the remainder of the year I will share a question and a photo of an item.
You are welcome to write into the question and/or the photo.
Or you can start a new ritual or experiment of your own creation.
I would love to hear about your progress on whatever project you want to begin!
**NOTE**
I do not share drafts of work online because most publications considered this published. You are more than welcome to share your piece in the comments, an excerpt or an update.
I hope for the comments to be a community for us to share these wins.
A little more about me: Tammy L. Evans is a writer, teacher, and coach living in a tiny house on a peninsula with her husband and adventure cat. Her location device is her loud laugh. She is working on a non-fiction book about how to submit and publish your first pieces. She is the creator and host of THE BRADBURY TRIO COURSE. Her poetry has been published in The Storyteller, FoxGlove Journal, Story Hall, Blue Insights, The Partnered Pen, and others. Her fiction has been published in Gone Lawn, Cabinets of Heed, Spelk, Five on the Fifth, Clover and White, Fiction Berlin Kitchen, and others.
Thanks for the lovely writing session, it was fun to join you in the middle of the night from the other end of the globe. Used your foggy winter trees photo for my morning pages today. Winter cold nurtures...
