Welcome to my #last100dayproject!
What will you do with the remaining 2 days of 2023?
What will you do with your 100 day creations?
What did you learn from this exercise? What was the best part? What will you continue?
Have you been with me from the beginning or did you join along the way? I would love to hear in the comments.
Today’s prompt:
What image or memory comes to mind when you think of “immersion”?
Many times when we learn something new we do not give ourselves any immersion time. This is when the new learning becomes part of you.
What do you need to immerse yourself in today?
Maybe you need some think time, or some journaling time, or a bath (literal immersion!)
Maybe you need to read today and then log what you connected with in that reading.
I invite you to search your notebooks and drives for the prompt word and see what drafts you have that you can resurrect and revise.
What will you write today?
A list
A metaphor
A memory
One sentence
A conversation imagined between you and a stranger
Whatever you choose - have fun!
Happy writing!
I invite you to leave a comment!
You belong simply because you are here.
If you like this prompt join my offering starting in January!
In this 12-week course I will save you time by curating reading lists and writing assignments to help you utilize that reading!
Reading is vital to the writing life! It also reduces stress. Come see what can emerge from your writing when you are fueled with reading, community, and a guide!

1.I want to finish my Christmas story, “Frisky’s Christmas Wish.” It’s a rewrite of an old published story, the first one I wrote for a children’s magazine way back in 2012. I also want to finish preparing all my 2024 writing resources. I have some big goals for 2024.
2.I am not sure what to do with my 100 day creations. I know “Inklings” is a great complete first draft that I can work on and then submit in the first quarter. I also want to do a rewrite/edit of my middle grade fantasy novel and start outlining my fantasy horror wonderland novel over the next three months. Then there’s the submission packet I’m putting together to query agents for my Picture Books. There are so many projects waiting patiently for me to return with a fully charged pen in hand.
3.I learned that engaging with the page regularly is fun, joyful, and meaningful ‘work’. Giving my writing priority in my life has made me happier than I’ve been in a very long time. The best part is knowing what I’m writing is not perfect, and that’s okay, because I will get another chance to write something better tomorrow. Letting go of perfectionism is a big step towards writing more, and writing better. I will continue creating work regularly. Posting something daily seems like a totally doable habit.
4.Yes, I have been with you from the beginning, Tammy, from Day 100. What really helped me keep on track is a little Creativity Tracker bookmark I designed on Canva. I printed it out and then put it in a jar with a set of 3 yellow markers, 2 yellow highlighters, and 2 shades of yellow watercolor paints. Each day I’d color, highlight, or paint in the next square. The simple goal of filling every square with a little bit of sunshine was enough to motivate me to show up and create something every day. I put a picture of a bee and an ant on the front and a bicycle on the back with the slogan, “Create Then Consume!” as inspiration to keep writing and creating every day. Two rabbit ears peek out from behind the word, “Creativity” to remind me to pay attention to the creative inspiration present in my surroundings.
