24 Days Remain in 2024
A Question and an Image to Spark Creativity during the #last100days2024
Welcome to my #last100dayproject!
There are 24 days left in 2024.
This is the time of year I reflect on the past 12 months. I think about what I remember from each month, the actions I need to take moving into the new year, what I should stop doing, and what I need to continue. You might be in this same place. It is common this time of year.
This past week I received some information which threw me for a loop. Unexpected changes to my schedule forced me to evaluate my path and what I truly want with my writing and teaching. The past few months I took a break from submitting after being consistent and relentless about it for almost 4 years. I needed to analyze my process and find a new direction because what I was doing was not reaching the outcome I wanted. After reflecting, I realized I taught none of my classes. [This was a surprise to me honestly! This is what happens when you look at the data…hahaha] I didn’t realize it because I did facilitate several free 5-word groups, a writing circle, and a write in for my community.
I have earned and been gifted an incredible set of circumstances surrounding my writing life. I have also reached a threshold where I am not mentally tied to a schedule that isn’t mine to hang onto anymore.
I am still in planning mode, but I will continue to plan my schedule by quarters and categories. I will focus on flash/short stories, growth, teaching, my Margot project, and a few others.
Look forward to some Substack experiments!! Free challenges will continue but I am planning some special content and courses for paid subscribers.
We are going to have some fun! Stay tuned!
Today’s question: When have you been wrong?
Today’s image:
For the last 100 days, I invite you to join me and experiment.
Each day for the remainder of the year I will share a question and a photo of an item.
You are welcome to write into the question and/or the photo.
Or you can start a new ritual or experiment of your own creation.
I would love to hear about your progress on whatever project you want to begin!
**NOTE**
I do not share drafts of work online because most publications considered this published. You are more than welcome to share your piece in the comments, an excerpt or an update.
I hope for the comments to be a community for us to share these wins.
