Welcome to my #last100dayproject!
What are you focusing on for the remainder of 2023?
There are 36 days left of the year 2023.
I give you permission to begin today!
Today’s prompt:
What image or memory comes to mind when you think of the word “permission”?
What do you need to write yourself a permission slip for?
When I was in elementary school notes on colored paper would come home with a dashed line at the bottom for my mother to cut off and sign to give me the ok to attend a field trip. Each elementary grade had a field trip that was designated for that age.
The apple orchard was grade 1.
The circus was grade 2.
Indianapolis was grade 4.
When I was the teacher, I had the privilege of writing the permission slips to send home with my students.
Do you need permission to take yourself on an artist’s date? Do you need permission to carve out 30 minutes of writing time? Or meditation? Or a lunch with a friend?
I invite you to search your notebooks and drives for the prompt word and see what drafts you have that you can resurrect and revise.
What will you write today?
A list
A metaphor
A memory
One sentence
A conversation imagined between you and a stranger
Whatever you choose - have fun!
Happy writing!
I invite you to leave a comment!
You belong simply because you are here.
