37 Things About Me...

A little list to get to know me.

   1. I’m allergic to lateness – my own and other people’s.

2. I am back to reading novels and happy about it. Physical copies from the library seem better for me lately than e-books.

3. Last year I visited Iceland for the first time.

4. Iceland was my first international travel as an adult.

5. On a fifth-grade field trip I went to Canada to eat dinner, but I don’t really count this as international travel.

6. I will be camping with my husband in Canada in July.

7. I will be taking a family cruise to Alaska in August.

8. I probably belong to too many writing communities.

9. I love Flash Fiction and Poetry.

10. I am not buying as many books or classes this year. (I had vowed not to buy any, but I went to AWP and signed up for MFA for ALL!)

11. I’m thinking a lot about community and belonging.

12. I am obsessed with apartments, MFA programs, spoons, red, and crows.

13. My son just turned 21.

14. I love to cook without processed ingredients.

15. I am known for my potato salad.

16. I don’t use my phone for talking.

17. I love Birch Trees.

18. I have not made it to real-life book club yet this calendar year.

19. My favorite local cafe flooded and won’t be open for 3 months.

20. My word of the year is WINTERING.

22. I’m turning 50 this year.

23. I live in a tiny house with my husband who I love very much!

24. I have an adventure cat! When he was a kitten he rode on top of the gas tank of a Silverado truck for 40 minutes on the highway. He freaks out if we try to put him in the truck now so we take my car to the vet!

25. I live on a peninsula.

26. My husband and I like to eat outside in the summer.

27. I’m looking forward to planting our garden and am already excited for the first tomatoes.

28. I love cinnamon and cayenne in my coffee.

29. I only nap when I am sick.

30. Years ago I was the overall winner of a 50K trail race and I have a jacket that was part of the prize.

31. I just returned from Disney to celebrate my son’s 21st birthday!

32. We went to an after hours party at Disney for the first time and it was amazing!

33. I was able to ride in the front row of the newest Tron ride.

34. We had more front row rides than any other trip to Disney.

35. I finally got to eat at the O’hana restuarnt at the Polynesian resort.

36. I love coffee but can be a bit snobbish about it.

37. My flash collection will be done by the end of this calendar year.

38. I love teaching my Bradbury Trio course.

39. I love my life!
