Welcome to my #last100dayproject!
What are you focusing on for the remainder of 2023?
Happy Halloween!
There are 61 days left of the year 2023.
I give you permission to begin today!
Today’s prompt:
What image or memory comes to mind when you think of “home”?
What relationship do you have to homes?
This can be a loaded word depending on your current situation. I was in a memoir class just after a death in my life. We were using one of Natalie Goldberg’s prompts from her memoir book, Old Friend from Far Away. Home was tricky for me in that moment and the instructor called on me to share. I didn’t want to share. I didn’t quite say that but my answer was terse which the instructor did not notice.
There are lots of stories relating to home in Sandra Cisneros’ book, House on Mango Street.
My home is a tiny house on a peninsula and I am the happiest I have ever been. My home is wherever Chris is!
I invite you to search your notebooks and drives for the prompt word and see what drafts you have that you can resurrect and revise.
What will you write today?
A list of all the homes you have known
A metaphor
A memory
One sentence containing the word
An imagined conversation with a stranger
Whatever you choose - have fun!
Happy writing!
I invite you to leave a comment!
You belong simply because you are here.
A little more about me: Tammy L. Evans is a writer, teacher, and coach living in a tiny house on a peninsula with her husband and adventure cat. Her location device is her loud laugh. What a great prompt. There is so much we can do with it! Thank you for the inspiration.
