Welcome to my #last100dayproject!
What are you focusing on for the remainder of 2023?
There are 82 days left of the year 2023.
You can begin today! I give you permission!
NANOWRIMO is on the horizon…
For those of you who do not know, NANOWRIMO stands for National Novel Writing Month. It is the challenge for you to write a 50,000 word project in 30 days. (about 1700 words per day).
I have written several novels in the past. One I revised down into a long short story last year! This year I plan to be a rebel again and write flash pieces/ short stories every day with the goal of creating a draft of a collection by the end of the month.
Care to join me?
Today’s prompt:
Over the years of running communities I have come to understand that everyone has a pancake story.
What is yours?
I prefer pancakes made with Bisquick Heart Smart mix with extra eggs so they are thin. I want real butter and Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup. Hands down, favorite.
I know that some people eat them with lemon and sugar. I keep meaning to try it but go back to my butter and syrup.
What image or memory comes to mind when you think of pancakes?
I invite you to search your notebooks and drives for the prompt word and see what drafts you have that you can resurrect and revise.
What will you write today?
A list of places to eat pancakes
What is a metaphor you can create with pancakes as a component?
A memory of pancakes
One sentence containing the word pancakes
Maybe you start a conversation with a stranger about the word and that is the story you write. Whatever you choose - have fun!
Happy writing!
I invite you to leave a comment even if you are just reading and not doing a project! Just say hello so I know you are out there! You belong simply because you are here.
I would love to hear about your progress on your projects too!!

**NOTE**
I do not share drafts of work online because most publications considered this published. You are more than welcome to share your piece in the comments, an excerpt, a link to your blog/Substack, or an update.
I hope for the comments to be a community for us to share these wins.
