Summer Brenan introduced me to the 5 Things Essay. You can read about it here.
I use this technique almost daily. I used to write it solely in my notebook but have started a document of my 5 things. It makes it easier to scroll through to find ideas to combine for writing.
Your task today:
Write a 5 things essay.
Make a #1 and choose a topic and write a few sentences (or a lot of sentences). When you are done with #1 then write #2.
Choose an unrelated topic, or one that came up in #1.
Continue for 3.4.5.
I sometimes use the tarot cards I pull as a thing, or something from my horoscope, or a word that sparkles from something I have read.
The best part? You cannot do it wrong.
