Welcome to the Tiny Writing Experiments Challenge!! The experiments may lead to poems, or they may not, but they will be short creativity bursts you can play and have fun with!
Day 7 Tiny Experiment:
Create a list of What If…questions
This is a favorite exercise of mine that I learned from Ramona Ausubel. She creates a document of what if questions to support her novel projects.
Today’s Experiment:
Start a page or a notes doc of What if…? questions. Let them be silly, serious, connected to a project, etc
Don’t worry about the answers. Today is only about the questions.
Here are a few from my doc:
What if we didn’t need sleep? What would hotels look like?
What if I scheduled 30 minutes of revision time after dinner?
What if something always happens at 12:34?
What if I went to the art museum every day for a month?
What if Margot met someone on a train?
What if Margot ignored what everyone else wanted for her?
What if I talked to my Oma - what would she tell me?
What if the meal you prepared morphed into something else as soon as you placed it on the dining table?
What if I wore the same outfit for a week - would anyone notice and say something? (I wanted to do this when I was teaching just to see how long it would take….)
Here is a poem made up entirely of questions for fun: Twenty Questions
