Welcome to Day 8
Day 8
Welcome to Day 8!
Remember, you cannot do this challenge wrong.
You have committed to 10 minutes a day to be creative. You are welcome to use my prompt, or come up with your own! Maybe your inner child is pulling you in a specific direction today.
Day 8:
Use nursery rhymes as a plot device .
This idea is inspired by Gabriela Pereira from DIYMFA.
Take Jack and Jill for an example. You could have two characters go up in an elevator and then it breaks only to realize they are in the Tower of Terror in Disneyworld.
If you use Little Miss Muffet a character can be eating something and have a dramatic emotional response.
Mary had a little lamb and your character can have an animal or an item that she/he is never without.
See where 10 minutes takes you. Have some fun and play with the constraints. If you just feel like reading some nursery rhymes that would be good too!
Set your timer for 10 minutes….and GO!
Happy Writing!
Reflection on your writing:
What surprised you?
Is there something else you want to create now?
Did you use all the senses or just certain ones? Why do you think that might be?
Which Accountability Level Will You Choose?
[You can choose differently each day!]
Just create and keep it for yourself!
Hit reply and send your piece or a picture to me! I will read/look at it and send you good vibes and a thank you.
Find a buddy. Send the email to a friend and send each other your creations.
Post in the comments.
Happy creating!
I love the 10-minute time frame. Amaze yourself with what you can get done!
I'm happy with the writing I did today. I took the character of Humpty Dumpty and wrote a story about his heart being broken after winning Olympic gold in the wall climbing competition in Paris. It's called "Humphrey's Proposal". I love the idea of using the plot/idea/theme/character of a nursery rhyme as a prompt for a story.
