If we were having coffee I would tell you…because of the holiday I am making waffles and bacon at home today. The Chili Bowl is closed today so it is BREAKFAST DAY…MODIFIED.
Easter dinner is ham, mashed potatoes, corn, and crescent rolls. Simple, but delicious. My son will be here later today as well to visit and I always look forward to that happening!
If we were having coffee I would tell you…Chris and I went camping at an Indiana state park this past week! We had an amazing time of hiking, canoeing, fishing (and catching), and spending time by the campfire. I love the smell of campfire.
We had the campground section mostly to ourselves. There were only a handful of campers in the whole park.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you… this week, I have to get back to my running, writing, and reading routines! I have some fun things planned for myself this week. My brother-in-law is flying in next Friday, so a trip to the airport is on the calendar!
I did get to the library this week after camping (I had some holds to pick up). I also did all the camp laundry at the laundromat which is always an interesting place to read and write. The people you meet there are interesting.
I am reading Nigel Slater’s book and enjoying his prose about food.
I highly recommend it!
If we were having coffee I would tell you….a new 4-week session of the Trio begins May 25th! You can find the info here. There are only a few spots left!
Here are some photos from this week:
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I attended the Shut Up and Write group yesterday. I worked on several Margot scenes. I also attended the Hillary Leftwich SmokeLong workshop session for an hour. I am having trouble with my headphones this week not connecting to my phone correctly so that has been frustrating.
I had a call with a writing friend who lives in Boston yesterday. It was fun to reconnect. We did some catching up…a lot had happened since we last spoke! She is always full of great reading recommendations as well.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…the tiny writing experiments continue! They are a celebration of National Poetry Month, but they may or may not lead to a poem. My hope is they are fun for you. You can find the latest prompts here.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…my Unpublished to Published course began today! I am excited to see all the pieces that will be submitted out into the world over the next 8 weeks!

OMGGGG, I am reading Nigel Slater's "A Thousand Feasts" right now!! A Christmasist friend and I read one section every morning and compare notes. Glorious. Have you read Slater's "The Christmas Chronicles"? I read it every winter. It is the closest thing to a Christmasist bible I have found.
Inspiring, as always.
