What this course is built from
This course grows out of years of teaching and refining related workshops, including the museum course, revision-focused classes, and unpublished-to-published offerings. Along the way, I have seen which strategies help writers move with the most clarity, momentum, and confidence.
Zero to Submittable gathers the most effective parts of that teaching into one focused experience. The museum rooms provide the structure, the reading and craft work shape the learning, revision gives the piece form, and submission guidance helps you understand how to carry the work outward with confidence. This course is a more concentrated and intentional version of what has proven most useful in my teaching.
What this is
Inside the course, you will move through a sequence of rooms that support the full life of a piece: generation, craft study, revision, and submission guidance. The museum structure gives you something elegant to hold onto, while the weekly lessons and readings help you stay oriented and moving.
You will also receive three emails each week:
One with the readings.
One with images/media and additional guidance
One optional art-making activity or creative suggestion.
This rhythm is designed to keep the work alive between meetings without making the process feel heavy. You will have enough support to stay connected, but enough space to let your own voice lead.

How it works
Each week, you will step into a different room of the writing process. Some rooms will focus on generation, where you make new material and discover what the piece wants to be. Other rooms will focus on revision, where you shape and sharpen what you have already written. The final portion of the course will focus on submission, so you know how to move your piece into the world.

Enter the museum: choose your project and genre.
Move through rooms: use TRIO readings and images to study structure and inspire
Draft inside the exhibit: generate your own piece.

Format:
8 weeks, 1 live session per week, 3 days of content with readings, images, generative exercises, and an art-making option. Each module will have a focus, activities, and homework.
Live meetings will be on Zoom, and recorded.
Each student will have a one-on-one session with Tammy to discuss whatever is needed. Topics could include, but not limited to, revision, feedback, next steps, etc.
