Thank you for coming to my dinner party! I am happy you are here to share a virtual meal with me!
Our theme is a simple meal to chat over!
Our appetizer is guacamole and chips. Why? Because I love them. It is the right texture combination and I love a great salty tortilla chip.

During the appetizer, I would tell you I have been thinking about inspiration and where ideas come from. Part of my process is paying attention to what sparkles from podcasts and what I am reading. I annotate and make notes so I know what to write about later.
I notice what other people comment about to me indirectly and directly.
This weekend was full of inspiration. I did an out-and-back trip to Missouri this weekend and have lists of ideas that are coming together.
I use my public writing as a way to share these ideas so you can be inspired too. I have been getting feedback on how effective my Bradbury Trio shares are. Someone I know commented they have been doing it for a week and a half and they have been so inspired to write! People in my PUSH group are also sharing selections in our Slack channel. It only widens everyone’s reading and hopefully fuels the writing.
The Bradbury Trio are the perfect ingredients to make a writing meal of your own!

On one podcast on my return trip, the idea of reading as an inhale and writing as an exhale was presented. I have heard Caroline Donahue talk about this concept. I love this metaphor because it is a cycle. I live my life by my internal cycles, sunrises and sunsets, the moon, and the seasons.
Our main course tonight is a version of chicken Milanese with lemon! As a side dish, we are having fresh spinach wilted with some garlic.
During dinner, I would tell you I was in 3 states yesterday and then reversed the order today. It was 5 hours in the car each way. While I was in St. Louis, I went to an independent bookstore, attended an author event and book signing, had a great dinner, and visited the art museum with my friend Chari. We have known each other since about 2015 but this was the first time we had been able to get together in person. It was not easy to go our separate ways this morning but we are already planning the next trip.
For dessert, we are having ice cream sundaes! I have chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, whipped cream and cherries!
During dessert, I would tell you I will share more about the details of the author event and the art museum especially how it applies to writing later this week!
This week I am dedicating the week to reading, writing, submissions, and residency applications. It is special time that I am able to carve out and I will use it wisely.
