Iceland - I miss this coffee so much.
Thank you for joining me for a coffee and a chat today.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…we went to breakfast twice this week! Wednesday we had some time to venture out where the people are so we decided to get second breakfast for the week. Sunday is a staple and today breakfast was back to normal. It took many cups of coffee this morning to feel like I was 80% awake. It is taking me a while to join the world today.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…we are in May! Lots is going on this month for me. I am writing 31 stories for the month, beginning with a new writing circle, taking a poetry class, and writing and reading up a storm. I also am putting some hard health rules down for myself this month. Chris and I are spending a lot more time in the carport together which is lovely too! He is getting lots of projects done and I am getting work done. It is a lovely rhythm we have.
Today is the intro call for the writing circle and I am excited for all that this group is going to do over the next 14 weeks.
Writing Prompt: Write about anticipation.
If we were having coffee I would tell you… I finished WHEREABOUTS by Jhumpa Lahiri. I discovered she is interviewed in the latest Paris Review. I loved this book and flew through it. It is about a woman who is feeling alone. The chapter titles are intriguing for me and I have used them as prompts for myself.
Writing Prompt: Write a story with the title, “AT THE CAFE”
If we were having coffee I would tell you… despite the up and down weather and pop up thunderstorms I did a lot of walking this week. I am grateful for the life I have to be physically able to walk long distances and also to have the time.
Writing Prompt: What do you have time for? What do you not have time for?
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I was successful in not leaving the house too much this week. Friday I had a mountain of errands to do but overall got them done quickly. Then I had a lovely dinner with my son. Several trips to the library is always welcome.
If we were having coffee I would tell you … I had my last MFA for All Craft class last Tuesday. This series of 3 workshops was amazing. I hope American Fiction does this again. I have resources I have to schedule time in my calendar to revisit.
If we were having coffee I would tell you… I am planning a free 10-minute creativity challenge for June to celebrate my birthday month! More details are coming soon!
Thank you for joining me for coffee today. I hope you are well and that wishes came true for you this week!
I would love to hear something you did this past week that was fueling to you!

I walked for almost 2 hours this morning without music or phone in hand. This fueled my day and gave me positive motivation for my own creative work. I need more of this in the near future. I want to find more time in the day to be unplugged. When all is quiet, I can let my mind heal itself and be joyfully creative.
Inspiring as always!
