Coffee from Iceland!
Happy Mother’s Day!
Mothers come in many forms! I hope your day is wonderful.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…the cup pictured above is from a cafe in Iceland with a people greenhouse. If you missed the picture last week here it is again. I have this photo as home screen wallpaper on my phone. It is a lovely space with heaters and glass walls where you can watch the foot traffic go by on the main street in Reykjavik.
Soup Saturday was buffalo chicken soup. I made it yesterday because today I am spending the day with my son.
It was breakfast day today! Everything was normal and yummy.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I attended my Shut Up And Write group yesterday. There were a lot of people which was fun! A group was using the space after us and I felt like we were in the way. I was able to get a lot done but not as much as I would have liked. I always have more planned. It is the perfect concentrated time for me to work on projects.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I am a bit obsessed with this Book of Alchemy book and want to start a low-key book/writing club around it! Are you interested in joining? I am gathering a group together on May 28th at 11:30 am ET. DM me and I will send you the link.
I imagine us meeting and reading an essay together on a rotation selection basis and then respond to the prompt. We would share highlights of what we write and our process. We can also share what it brought up for us that we didn't write, maybe? It has the potential to be an intimate group [fair warning] but a good way to start a journaling practice if you don't have one!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I am working on two essays - one about the last writing retreat I went on and one about airplane reading! I am also thinking a lot about how poetry is medicine.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I made some new recipes this last week and they all turned out great. I love the classic meals I make but sometimes want to shake it up.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I had some meetings last week. One went better than I thought and one took a turn that wasn’t quite what I thought. It is all going to work out.
If we were having coffee, I would recommend…
reading….whatever you like!
If we were having coffee I would tell you….a new 4-week session of the Trio begins May 25th! You can find the info here. There are only two spots left!
Here are some photos from this week:
If we were having coffee I would tell you…have a wonderful week!
