Iceland - I miss this coffee so much.
Thank you for joining me for a coffee and a chat today.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…Breakfast day today!! We went fairly early and it was great today. We got our table. I do enjoy our regular Sunday date! It is a pleasant day temperature-wise so far. The day is fairly unscheduled. I have some writing, a walk to take, and shoes to find for the wedding Chris and I are attending this weekend.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I am checking more things off my Summer list! I attended the silent book club at the local bookstore. I had a glass of wine and finished my SALT SLOW book by Armfield. I have been looking up interviews and podcasts featuring this author. She is feeding my diet of weird stories nicely! I need to find more stories like this.
Since I have the new bookshelves made by my husband, it is easier to see my personal library. There are several collections of short stories that I can revisit that are on the weird side. I pulled Kim Magowan’s UNDOING off the shelf this morning.
I finished two books I added to my Summer Library Reading Program log!
If we were having coffee I would tell you…Chris and I had a date night this week which was super fun. We ate at Chipotle and then had our wine tasting for the month! Glasses were accidentally broken, we laughed a lot and brought home some tasty wine!
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I attended the co-writing event for Centered this week and Sarah Selecky did hypnosis with us. She wrote a script that was about courage (which is the theme of the month in the community) and then we wrote. I enjoyed it and hope she continues the practice. Luckily, the events are recorded so I can revisit the hypnosis part. I want to use it with headphones and a time I am in the house alone to see what happens with the writing.
If we were having coffee I would tell you… I am in an introspective mood about writing groups, my work, and how my professional life will look moving forward. I need to level up and know that writing and reading a lot is part of the way to get there.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…one of my goals is to be more involved and consistent with the SmokeLong community I belong to. Summer means a prompt and posting opportunity three times a week. I am happy to report I am 3 for 3 this past week! I vow to continue the streak
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I am looking forward to my tattoo appointment next week! Sebastian is gifting me the tattoo for my birthday which makes it more special to me.
I am looking forward to my writing retreat and author event later this month too.
If we were having coffee I would tell you… I did not fast as much this week as I usually do. I had dinner with my son on Tuesday and I didn’t readjust my plan. Today I am resetting and getting back on track. I want to do a longer fast before we leave on Thursday morning.
If we were having coffee I would tell you… the FREE 10-minute Creativity Challenge is underway!
Thank you for joining me for coffee today.
I would love to hear something you did this past week that feels summery to you!

Hello! I love to read your weekly updates. Last week I pulled a lot of weeds out of the cracks in my driveway and enjoyed the sunlight and windy days. Windy days are my favorite.
A summery moment was watching sunset from one of my favorite view points at High Point State Park. It has been getting dark so late recently - it is definitely a summery vibe.
