If we were having coffee I would tell you…Today is BREAKFAST DAY! Chris and I overslept and Mykl was already at the restaurant! Ooops. The omelet was delicious today and the hashbrowns were pretty perfect. They were not half raw and half burnt. Always a good thing. Many cups of coffee and water added to the meal.
At the table next to us, a dad was having breakfast with his three kids. They were well behaved and none were on devices. It was nice to see them coloring. The little boy wanted chocolate chip pancakes and toast and his dad was trying to explain that you usually didn’t eat those two foods together.
When I looked over a bit later the boy had pancakes on his plate and jellied toast in his hand!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you… I attended a journal writing session early Thursday morning. The instructor is in the UK so it was afternoon for them! I enjoy her style and ideas so it was a well-spent hour.
I am back on the submission train! I sent off two stories for feedback and also a chapbook project to a contest. I began a new page on the spreadsheet. Since I took a big break from sending work out I am starting fresh. There are some stories I will revise and send out before the end of the month.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you… Soup Sunday today is leftover soup from the freezer! I am very tired this week so am glad Past Tammy put leftovers in the freezer so Today Tammy can use them!
If we were having coffee I would tell you…the planning and reflection continues! My work at Centered is changing a bit with the first of the year so I have been thinking about that concept a lot.
If we were having beverages together I would tell you…..my asynchronous courses and e-books are available. Find the courses and prompts here.
You can also support my work through this Substack again. I will be adding paid subscriber content as we move forward. I will continue free challenges, because I love them, but the archives will only be available for paid subscribers. I also plan to publish courses once a quarter. More details are coming soon. Please reach out if there is something specific you would like to see from me.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I went to the library this week to pick up holds (of course). Two book recommendations came from the Iceland Writers’ Conference IG account. The others came from Laura Pashby’s recommendations for gifts from her Substack post. I have been reading in short spurts this week but need to chunk out some more solid time this next week. I write better when I read more and need to get back to that. Luckily, it is the time of year for being wrapped in blankets in front of the fire. It is perfect reading mode!
I am doing some research on elephants for my Margot project which is fun!
If we were having coffee, I would ask you…I made the punch cup Advent calendars for Chris and Sebastian. Seb came to pick up his cup tree on Thursday. I learned about this concept from a coach meeting from a school system I worked for years ago.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…the temperatures plummeted again on Thursday. I spent the day in front of the fire reading and writing. I made beef sandwiches in the crock pot. They were so yummy.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I am happy you are here. Thank you for reading my words. You are important to me.

I’m a better writer when I read more too and yay you on getting back on the submissions train. I’m definitely an ebb and flow kind of gal in that regard but I think it’s because I’m not a “prolific” writer.
