Thank you for joining me for a coffee and a chat today. Let’s pour ourselves a cup and begin our conversation!
If we were having coffee I would tell you… I have been alive 2501 weeks. We celebrated by going out to breakfast. My hubby and I split an omelet and I had copious amounts of coffee. I have my last Sabrina Orah Mark class today so it is an early one.
There are lots of life experience that color life. When you lose someone you love you appreciate the little moments even more than you already did. That is where I am this week.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I am obsessed with Sheila Heti’s and Samantha Hunt’s writing lately. Heti’s new book coming out in February is her journals over a 10 year period alphabetized. You can read about it here. Samantha Hunt also has an article in the newest issue of Orion called WILD SWIMMING.
Having read about this Heti makes me think of all kinds of things to alphabetize and see what emerges. Drafts of stories? My Google Keep notes? Poems? My own sentences from my notebook?
I have several documents of random sentences that I have collected. I put them in ABC order to see what emerged. It was a different story and something I plan to play with more.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I had my mid-course call with my Bradbury Trio Group last week and it was magical. I made the reference to the class feeling like we are all around a dining room table, having dinner and talking reading, and writing. That is what the call felt like too. I am going to savor these next weeks with them.
This image of the dinner table is how I want all my classes to feel. It is an intention I am moving forward with as I plan gatherings in the future.
If we were having coffee I would tell you… I went to a real life bookclub last Sunday! It was a well-attended event at the local independent bookstore. We discussed THE MEASURE. While I was there I got invited to another bookclub at the end of the month so I picked up a copy of THE INVISIBLE HOUR by Alice Hoffman. I had a lovely conversation about her books with the librarian when I got the book as well. A pleasant surprise exchange.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…the #last100days project starts next week.
If we were having coffee I would tell you… week 7 of the Bradbury Challenge started today.
Thank you for joining me for coffee today! I would love to hear something you would tell me about if were having coffee.
