Thank you for joining me for a coffee and a chat this August Sunday.
Let’s pour ourselves a cup and begin our conversation!
This week was busy and full of things that I felt were more catching up than anything else.
If we were having coffee I would tell you… breakfast this morning was glorious! We had our regular table and our regular waitress. I love this Sunday ritual with my husband.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I made this recipe from Salt and Lavender this week. Tomato and Spinach white wine chicken. I used tomatoes from our garden which was amazing. I used fresh basil we grew too. We ate it over boiled potatoes and it was yummy.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…one of the quotes I have saved in my notebooks is from Ray Bradbury:
“Conjure the nouns, alert the secret self, taste the darkness…speak softly, and write any old word that wants to jump out of your nerves onto the page.”
If we were having coffee I would tell you… I did lots of driving this week, but it was not unwelcome. My hubby and I get uninterrupted time in the car when we drive to work and I look forward to that chat time. I also drove to the dentist and it was not a stressful appointment which was also welcome.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I am in the most amazing group of people on Voxer and we are talking about belonging and community. It is a group of people I would have never met any other way and it has been FUN! I am grateful to be included.
If we were having coffee I would tell you...I am getting back into my routine for writing this week. I am reading a poetry collection (or most of it) each day for the Seally Challenge. It has been nice to pull the collections off my shelves and rediscover poems or to read ones I haven’t gotten to yet. I use a lot of poetry when I teach so I am making notes of ones to return to for various reasons.
If we were having coffee I would tell you… I am excited my Bradbury Trio course started today. This group of women is amazing and I am so glad that people are going to be able to interact with each other and these texts.
Thank you for joining me for coffee today! I would love to hear something you would tell me about if were having coffee.
A little more about me: Tammy L. Evans is a writer, teacher, and coach living in a tiny house on a peninsula with her husband and adventure cat. Her location device is her loud laugh. Her poetry has been published in The Storyteller, FoxGlove Journal, Story Hall, Blue Insights, The Partnered Pen, and others. Her fiction has been published in Gone Lawn, Cabinets of Heed, Spelk, Five on the Fifth, Clover and White, Fiction Berlin Kitchen, and others.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I cleaned my apartment from top to bottom a few days ago, put up new pictures for decoration, and one of my favorite parts of this weekend has been the nights when I light a candle, pour myself a mug of tea, and admire the cleanliness. Haha!
Let me know if you run through it again. I didn't sign up for this time around because I knew that I wouldn't have the time or head for it right now - unfortunately, I am caring for a sick family member
