Thank you for joining me for a coffee and a chat today.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…BREAKFAST! It was a lovely Sunday ritual today and the weather is cold but sunny. Chris and I had our regular order. It was a great morning.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…we had a rummage sale yesterday. I have mixed feelings since there was some traffic in the middle of the day but slow the rest. Rummage sales don’t seem to have the draw they once did. I remember as a kid having sales where people were waiting for the garage door to open and it was a mad rush of people for most of the day until just after lunch.
I was craving a cheeseburger after being outside all day so that is what we had for dinner! It hit the spot perfectly.
Writing Prompt: Write about a craving. It could be for food or something else. The more absurd the better!
If we were having coffee I would tell you… this past week I had more coaching calls than normal which was fun and made the time feel different. I also was able to meet with two writing groups. One we had taken a few weeks off due to some family things going on. The other is a regular revision group, but we don’t meet every week. I am thankful for the writing community in my circles.
Writing Prompt: Write about circles of people that influence you. What happens when they collide?
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I taught a yoga class this week and did several long walks. As the weather gets warmer more consistently, I hope to get out even more. I co-hosted an online writers’ salon which was impactful too. Lots of great ideas and conversation swirled around within that hour.
It is important to notice the things that fuel you for your creativity. I have noticed a connection between this and what feels healing. Reading would be on this list too. I want to pull on this thread a bit more.
Writing Prompt: What is healing to you?
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I have been mining my old blog posts for what I want to bring forward and refresh which has been an interesting process. Not only to look back at the content, but also to see how far my writing has progressed over the last few years.
I am doing a story a day challenge for the month of May and I want to revisit blog posts from previous year’s challenges and my process. I am curious if the experience will feel different this year from the past. [I am sure I will write about this process next month at least once.]
I also started a fresh notebook which is such an amazing feeling. This one has larger pages which makes me feel like there is more open space to expand the stories I am working on.
If we were having coffee I would tell you … I am planning a free 10 minute creativity challenge for June to celebrate my birthday month! More details are coming soon!
Thank you for joining me for coffee today. I hope you are well and there are many things for you to be grateful for!
I would love to hear something you did this past week that was fueling to you!
