A Cup of Coffee and a Conversation

If we were having coffee I would tell you…Today is BREAKFAST DAY! We were there a bit earlier than normal. The restaurant was packed today. It is Cookie making day today! My brother-in-law is in charge of this event so today it is his kitchen.

I attended a writing event with Sue Ann Gleason this week and it was lovely to meet some new writers. The writing I did in her group was surprisingly emotional! You can check out Sue Ann’s Substack and her offerings here:

If we were having coffee, I would tell you… Soup Sunday today is chili! It is warming in the crockpot for us to eat later (after making cookies!). There will be cheese, onions, crackers, sour cream, etc. for toppings.

If we were having coffee I would tell you…my word for 2025 is SPACE. What is yours? I have a draft post about the reasoning behind choosing this word but it is not quite right yet.

This week I have several pieces I want to revise. I received feedback from several editors I need to comb through and do some deep work. I am looking forward to it.

If we were having coffee, I would ask you…what is giving you energy right now? What is draining you of energy right now? What did you learn or want to remember from today?

If we were having coffee, I ask you…what are you reading? I finished REAL AMERICANS and was not pleased with the ending. I did enjoy the book. There were three sections from different POVs which I was not expecting when I started it. I preferred the first two sections to the last one. We will be visiting the bookstores on Tuesday for the Icelandic Book Flood so I will find some new books to give a home to. I am sure there will be at least one visit to the library this week as well!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I am happy you are here. Thank you for reading my words. You are important to me.

It is now winter! My favorite season. Yesterday was my wedding anniversary which makes the solstice extra special for me. There is a lot to be thankful for in my life and I take time to sit with that idea every day.
