Thank you for joining me for a coffee and a chat today.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…Yep! Today was breakfast day! The omelet was great this morning. I always enjoy my time with Chris no matter where we are. We didn’t get our regular table today, but we did have our regular waitress! She gifted me chocolate last week and she shared a peanut butter egg with me today. The weather is beautiful again today and I went for a long walk after we got home. After dinner, Chris and I took our evening stroll which allows us to settle our food and hold hands.
Writing Prompt: Start with a beautiful day. It could be the weather or another beauty.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…Chris went tandem skydiving yesterday! He had wanted to do it forever, and I was happy to gift it to him for his birthday last week. We couldn’t have asked for better weather. The man was grinning from ear to ear the entire time! I knew he would want to do it again as soon as it was over and I was right!
If we were having coffee I would tell you… this past week was full of tasks that Chris and I put off until after spring break which meant every day was scheduled. We made the tasks into dates when we could which made them more fun. One of our favorite places for coffee in Chesterton is a place called The Red Cup. We also walked down to the used bookstore which is owned by a man always ready to tell an interesting adventure story!
Writing Prompt: Write about a local place you love. How would you describe it to someone if it wasn’t there anymore?
If we were having coffee I would tell you…we had to have the fireplace cleaned and that led to other news about the fireplace needing some work done. The bad news is there can be no fires until it is fixed. The good news is it is not winter.
Writing Prompt: Fire
If we were having coffee I would tell you …I attended a Wine and Words event hosted by Melissa Llanes Brownlee. She had two prompts attached to flash pieces she loved to share. We also had a conversation in between the prompts. It was a great way to spend an evening!
If we were having coffee I would tell you…we watched the new RoadHouse movie with Jake Gyllenhaal and it was fun! I love Conner McGregor and he was over the top as expected.
If we were having coffee I would tell you … I hosted the wrap up call for my Bradbury Trio course today! It is a bittersweet ending but a new writing circle is starting the first week of May so it won’t be too long before I see most of the people.
It was heartwarming to hear people talk about finding the fun in writing again, writing stories when they hadn’t written in years, loving the more in depth critique than they are used to, and the love of the variety of readings!
The next iteration will be a month-long group at a time, but won’t start until at least September. People can pop in and out if they are busy one month and I can take breaks when I need to. There was request for workshopping and more Zoom calls to discuss the readings and the assignment. I am already looking forward to starting it again.
Thank you for joining me for coffee today. I hope you are well and there are many things for you to be grateful for!
