Welcome to the conversation! The above photo is from the brunch chain First Watch in Florida.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…Well, Tuesday didn’t go as I thought it would. There is a lot I could say, but I am choosing not to for now in this forum.
Today is BREAKFAST DAY! It is rainy this morning. We had our regular breakfast, regular waitress, but not the regular table. I always love my regular company for breakfast though.
Lots of work is happening at the tiny house this week and next. My plan is to take myself on a writer’s date tomorrow.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you… Soup Sunday is clam chowder this week. There might be additional soup day added as the weather gets colder and because my brother in law requested it! Soup is always a good thing. It is always a great way to use the rest of what is in the veggie drawer in the fridge.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I was reading this book…
I finished it last night. It was a lovely read and fun. There were a lot of things I learned about Ina that were complete surprises! I am pulling out my Barefoot Contessa cookbooks! I cooked through most of her Paris cookbook years ago. One of my son’s favorite meals is her lemon chicken.
If we were having beverages together I would tell you…..my asynchronous courses and e-books are available. Find the link here.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I attended a Story Studio write-in at the Chicago office/classroom space yesterday morning. I left early because I didn’t like the vibe. It was completely different than the vibe of the writers fest last weekend. The good news is that I did some great work on the Margot project and made some decisions about what will make the most sense…at least for now. The drive was nice and I listened to several episodes of the Chicago Writers Podcast.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I have a short story course starting Tuesday evening, which I am excited about. I did the reading for that class this weekend! It was a story that is in conversation with my Margot project, which felt exciting. Last Thursday was Part 1 of the Susan Choi (MFA for All series) talk about Making a Writing Mess and Cleaning it Up. I am looking forward to Part 2.
I attended a writer gathering online with Traci Skuce as well which was lovely. I met some nice writers in that space.
How was your week?
