Tammy's Trio on Tuesday
Reflections and Readings from My Bradbury Trio Program + Writing Prompts
Everything outside my window today was frosty but the coffee is hot and my notebook was ready. The morning is close to perfect because my love is by my side on the couch, (Hi Chris!)
I am still synthesizing my notes and thoughts from Kansas City and AWP. Whenever I attend a conference I reread through the notes within the next week in order to make sure there are as few gaps as possible. Because I was a TAP Master Teacher and had to learn to script a lesson, I usually can take accurate notes when typing. When I take notes on paper, my pattern is to have many half sentences because as I was capturing the speaker said something else I want to capture and the sentence stem is there to remind me.
It will all work out in the end! Þetta Reddast!
The Bradbury Trio [reading a poem, an essay, and a story every day] fuels my writing.
This trio structure works for me because I am inspired to write after I read.
I hope the reading you do today leads you to writing that could not have been created any other way.
Here is some of what I read today.
Poem: Not Writing
Writing Prompt: What are you NOT doing/writing/etc?
Story: Chicken in SmokeLong
This story stuck with me after I read it. I encourage you to read the author interview as well.
Writing Prompt: Subtraction
Essay: The Snail With The Right Heart
Writing Prompt: Start with “I walk beside….”
What will these pieces inspire you to write!?
What are you writing in your notebook today?
I would love to know your favorite lines in the comments.
