I do not consider myself a re-reader for pleasure. I reread texts, grants, drafts, etc. in the realm of work, but there are so many books to read. I want to enjoy as many as possible before I die.
The Night Circus is an exception. I read this book years ago and have no recall of how I came to find it. I devoured it. This is the book I return to when I feel like I am in a reading slump. It is the book that feels magical no matter how many times I have reread it. I do not listen to audiobooks and have listened to this one three times. One time for the sole purpose of logging the food . I dream of having a midnight dinner party like those described in the book.
The Bradbury Trio [reading a poem, an essay, and a story every day] fuels my writing.
This trio structure works for me because I am inspired to write after I read.
I hope the reading you do today leads you to writing that could have not been created any other way.
Here are some of the texts that made an impact on me this week.
Poem: Take All The Time You Need
Story: A Mad Tea Party Chapter from Alice in Wonderland
Essay: On Fasting Kevah Akbar
What will these pieces inspire you to write!?
Have you read anything interesting this week that you need to share!? Please do so in the comments! I love recommendations and have found some of my favorite stories that way.
