The Tiny Writing Experiments Begin!
Welcome to A New Challenge for April: Day 1
Welcome to April! To celebrate National Poetry Month, I will post 30 days of Tiny Writing Experiments. I invite you to come along for the ride!
The experiments may lead to poems, or they may not, but they will be short creativity bursts you can play and have fun with!
I love self inflicted challenges. They get me writing. I have done multiple 30 day and 100 day challenges.
After listening to several podcast episodes and reading the book TINY EXPERIMENTS by Anne-Laure Le Cunuff, I started thinking about tiny writing experiments. If I am going to write them for myself, I might as well share them!
What tiny experiments are you conducting?
I invite you to join me! Let’s get started!
Day 1 Tiny Experiment:
Take your notebook and write outside somewhere for 10 minutes. Maybe under a tree? In the sun?
When I was riding the train into the city for my artist date a couple of weeks ago I was thinking about different places I plan to run when the weather gets a little warmer and less windy. I vowed to myself that I would bring my notebook (well, I always carry a notebook) and write outside, even if only for a few minutes.
I have beautiful outdoor options. I am a couple of miles away from (and am a member of) the Arboretum. I live near the National Lakeshore. In a park called Coffee Creek there is a 3-mile loop and a special bench on top of a hill.
I have written during my errands so it doesn’t even have to be a fancy outing!
You can read about that here:
Where will you write today?
It could be just three lines - a haiku perhaps? A sentence that describes where you are?
Please share where you wrote today that is not your norm.
I love writing in my camper. It's my favorite place to write "inside outside."
Hi Tammy!
I adore writing outside, especially on my porch while gazing out at nature around me. Today is a rainy, stormy, windy day so I’ll be writing inside but, believe me, I’ll be outside as soon as the weather gets friendly again—after the long winter, I’m past ready!
Much like your Writing Crawl, I love what I call Writing in the Wild and have several places I enjoy getting out to, people watching and writing along the way. You’ve inspired me to perhaps write a post about my next Writing in the Wild venture! xo
