My friend Diane F tried to comment and she was having trouble. Here is her response:
"I've never done a 100 day challenge, never really thought about the significance of "100 days". I've certainly done 30 day challenges. And I have lifetime challenges too! (Write, exercise, and meditate--every day.) This is a good reminder to set these types of goals to get things done. I'm at a tricky part in both my old and new novels, and find that I am great at procrastinating. I've been thinking of this issue as summer got pretty busy near the end, making writing challenging. I'm off to meditate for a week and come back to a calmer energy (I hope) and a plan for the last 100 days."
I'm 100% up for your challenge(s) Tammy, sounds like FUN and something I can shoe-horn into my day.
I started my new novel, am just about 5K words in, aiming to complete the first draft by Christmas. I can't think of any challenges I've done except getting into the daily prompts habit since this summer.
Tammy this is a great idea! I would love to do a 100 day challenge with you..Earlier this year I did a 100 day challenge (Nature appreciation) to get myself to go for longer walks and to take in the beauty around me. I did it every day and posted it daily on IG. It was fun and made me really look and see. I find it helped me in my writing as well as helping me stay in the now.
I would love to do a 100 day writing challenge this time.
My 60 day writing challenge with VerseLove and Slice of Life turned into 100, then to 365, and on the last day of February 2024, I will have blogged every day for 3 years now. I love a great challenge. Today’s is a poetry marathon - a poem an hour for 24 hours, and I’ve invited others to send me poems to count toward the 24. Challenges stretch us to new summits we would have never dreamed we could reach. I’ll take your 100 day challenge, Tammy. I’m thinking.....
Yes! I think Slice of Life in March was my second 30 day challenge. Storyaday was first.
Congratulations on 3 years of blogging! That is amazing!
Ooooo a 24 hour challenge...I like it. To read a poem an hour I assume since you are asking people to send you poems! Interesting to think about writing 24 poems in 24 hours....hmmmm. You have my brain percolating Kim!
Tammy, the poem you shared is phenomenal. The ending took me by surprise! There is nothing more authentic and heartfelt than a rambling random-thought poem, and I love that the speaker kept thanking me for reading! I appreciate your taking the time to send it my way!
How do others approach the daily box word prompt? They've become a staple to my morning rituals. A 10 point list of whatever springs to mind and I'm done in a minute or two on the laptop. A single document on my Desktop contains each day's list. We're at 80 days remaining today. 'Tornado' thoughts ricocheted in disturbing directions but by point #10, I am grateful for the place I reached.
This started when I was dark on social media. I am glad I found it now and will jump in on my own day 1 of 100, slightly off but so am I so.... I appreciate you doing this, Tammy!
I’m in for a 100 day challenge as well. I’m in full time school thru December 6th while also bring a full time everything else to my family so I will think about what it is I will do and report back. I’ve already committed to a challenge in October so I will see if there are aspects of it that I can morphe and make my own.
