Canda Coffee!
Thank you for joining me for a coffee and a chat today.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…BREAKFAST DAY! Not only is breakfast delicious, it is a timestamp for the week. For some reason, this week has been full of us looking at each other in the house and asking some version of “What day is it?”
Chris and I usually have a conversation in the morning about what is happening during the day and then on our after dinner walk we talk about what is happening the next day. When I host an event for Centered we all know it is Wednesday.
I have certain writing groups assigned to particular days as well but they are not weekly. Not knowing the day is not a terrible problem to have.
I also have been in super work/flow mode so I will get lost in my writing for hours. That is a delicious experience to have!
I feel more back to schedule, at least for a short time. We are traveling again at the end of the month so it will get all wakadoodle again. But if a schedule has to be disrupted, traveling is a great reason.
If we were having coffee I would tell you….I am self-imposing a writing challenge during the weeks I returned from Canada to when we leave for Alaska. So far, it is going well. I may write more about the specifics in a future post if you are interested.
I am not on an educator schedule anymore [and neither is Chris for the first time ! WHOO HOO!] but I still feel like July flew by and “How is it August?” echoes from that timeline. It seems hotter than normal this year. I am thankful it will be cooler in Alaska at the end of the month!
If we were having coffee I would tell you….I have been reading but not always logging what I read. I am still following my rule of reading a bit of the book when I pick it up from the library. I have had more recommendations these past few weeks so there have been a lot of holds to pick up! [I am not complaining]. I also have found books I look up have already been purchased by my past self so that has been a pleasant surprise as well. [The 4 Hr Body by Tim Ferriss being one of them].
I finished We Are Experiencing a Slight Delay: (tips, tales, travels) by Gary Janetti
I reread I'm Mostly Here to Enjoy Myself: One Woman's Pursuit of Pleasure in Paris
If we were having coffee I would tell you…..I went to the library and checked out more children’s picture books and made writing lesson plans…for my notebook. It has been such great fun.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I walked this week and went back to a longer fast. I have been reading about the carnivore diet. Do you know of this lifestyle decision? Have you tried it? I would love to hear.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I am teaching a brand new Bradbury Trio course starting September 8th! More information is coming August 8th.
If we were having coffee I would ask you… are you watching the Olympics? I am only catching clips.
Thank you for joining me for coffee today.
I would love to hear something from your week and a question you would like me to answer!

Hey! Yes, I read your updates to keep track of you! lol I recently realized we wander the same areas!
Let me know if you want to connect sometime. Otherwise, I believe if it is on a short term the carnivore is worth looking into to resolve medical issues. I know of it via gym bros on YouTube and IG.
Keto was effective for me in losing weight, however, my LDL and HDL became elevated so I stopped. I now understand that it was probably a result of perimenopause and not Keto. Perimenopause is that cause of many issues for women in their 40's and 50's. Going on HRT has resolved many of my issues. Keto indirectly took me off gluten, which I believed helped, so while I can eat gluten, I currently do so minimally. I also eliminated added sugar. In regards to losing weight, for me it has been a calorie in calorie out that made the most difference and lifting heavy.
I love hearing of your travels. You and Chris are so fun-loving and adventurous. Alaska is a bucket list destination for me. I look forward to hearing how it went. Tammy, you truly live a creative life. I'm so inspired. Thank you! xo
