Canda Coffee!
Thank you for joining me for a coffee and a chat today.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…Chris and I went to see Deadpool and Wolverine which was fun last Sunday! The minivan fight was my favorite in the new one. I do not care for Channing Tatum as Gambit. His accent is terrible.
So now we started watching the Wolverine movies again. We watched Wolverine Origins last night. I missed the Logan movie somehow along the way.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…BREAKFAST DAY! We ate our regular breakfast foods at our regular table today. Breakfast will look different for the next two weeks since we will be traveling.
I woke up in a weird way this morning and have been angry ever since. I wrote out a page of reasons why I am currently pissed off. This did not help so I have myself in time out at the moment. It did inspire a frenzy of cleaning my desk of all the notecards , so there is that. I got the notes either into the computer or the garbage depending on what needed to happen.
If we were having coffee I would tell you….the Poet Camp’s Jumpstarts continued this week and were delightful. Sarah is a great teacher and former librarian. She is truly a kindred spirit.I am looking forward to her Craft Cafeteria classes starting this coming week. I am considering joining for September. I have to double check the schedule.
MFA for all just announced their fall semester so I am signed up for that already. I couldn’t resist a craft class from Karen Russell.
It was also time to renew SmokeLong Fitness. It feels like back to school in a much different way!
If we were having coffee I would tell you….the writing rejections continue this week. I try to reframe that if I am getting rejections, I am doing the work and sending it out therefore giving myself the space to be rejected. I know it is part of the writer’s life but I am tired of reframing today! LOL
There have been rejections in other ways too, not just email form which doesn’t feel like it is helping.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…..I went to breakfast yesterday with my son and we had a lovely time. The service was much better than last week and there wasn’t a tire repair looming so we took our time. I was able to get some errands out of the way earlier than expected as well. I made it home in plenty of time to attend an author reading and Q and A sponsored by SmokeLong.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I am hosting a free write-in on September 5th at 6pm Central/ 7pm Eastern! You can sign up here and I will send you the link early that Thursday! We will chat a bit and then write together for about an hour. I will provide 1 or 2 prompts depending on time.
All are welcome!
I was inspired this week to make some classes and challenges available in an asynchronous form for purchase! If you enjoy my prompts you can get my 100 Prompt Book here. It is in the same style as the prompts I published this past week on Substack. You can check a prompt out here if you missed them!
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I finished several books this week and that felt good. I have been able to do more reading which always fuels my writing. The trips to the library continue as usual. I spent some time there this week and flipped through magazines and wrote some ideas and notes. I treated myself to a coffee and some work at the cafe too.
I went to the Friends of the Library book sale yesterday for the first time in forever and found several great books for $1 a piece. I also had holds to pick up [of course]. I did return some though. I will have to return a good number of books before the end of the week because I will be gone for a bit. I also have to make the decision of what books I am taking to read on my trip!
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I am teaching a brand new Bradbury Trio course starting September 8th! You can find all the info in the link below. If you have questions, please reach out.
Email bradburytriocourse@gmail.com to get payment information, which is your confirmation for the course or if you have questions.
