Thank you for joining me for a coffee and a chat today. Let’s take our coffee and nestle in for a long chat.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…we went to breakfast this morning as per our usual routine. It is a small thing that makes me extremely happy. The food was good. It is rainy here this weekend but my hubby made a fire in the fireplace and I am getting things done. The right things? Maybe, maybe not.
If we were having coffee I would tell you… yesterday was the new moon! Always a day to celebrate. Chris and I went to the grand opening of the Journeyman Distillery built in our town. The owner has local roots here but he opened in Three Oaks, MI first because of the laws here in Indiana.
They had not anticipated the amount of people somehow. [You had to buy tickets ahead of time.] We waited in line to get in for 45 minutes. Then there were lines for the whiskey samples, cocktail samples, and food samples that were prepaid with the tickets. It was a fun time and we enjoyed the space.
We stopped at the shop and purchased a bottle of the special Popcorn Bourbon. Valparaiso is known for being a home of Orville Rendenbaucher. There is a popcorn fest every September.
If we were having coffee I would tell you… Chris and I watched the movie THE MENU this past week and I loved it. Someone had recommended it to me (maybe at Book Club) and it was smart and surprising.
If we were having coffee I would tell you… I ran a couple of times this week. I need to figure out how to get more movement into my day in short spurts since I write for hours a day.
If we were having coffee I would ask you… what is a question you would like me to answer? A story you would like to hear?
If we were having coffee I would tell you…the #last100days project is underway and if you have missed any of the days reading the prompts are contained in the section at the top of the page marked LAST 100 DAY PROJECT. You are welcome to join now and you do not have to “make up” any days.
If we were having coffee I would tell you… week 11 of the Bradbury Challenge started today. Each week has had a theme or craft element to hyperfocus on while reading and then a writing assignment is given for the week.
The course has been popular and well received so I plan to do another edition starting in January.
Thank you for joining me for coffee today! I would love to hear a story in the comments about something that you experienced this past week.

A popcorn festival sounds very interesting & fun.
Oddly enough I watched The Menu this week too. It was clever and I adore Ralph Fiennes
