My Flat White in the “human greenhouse” cafe in Iceland
If we were having coffee I would tell you…today I am making chili and Chris is making baby caraway seed breads like we had in Iceland. He is also making a loaf of white bread for us to enjoy this week.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you… breakfast day at our regular place! We are back! The omelet was so good! Someone took our table so we settled for a booth. There were a lot of people in the restaurant which was a surprise honestly. The weather was a little dicey this morning with big fluffy snowflakes and some wind! The omelet was great but the hashbrowns were a little crispy. Lots and lots of coffee was drank!
One of the things I noticed from my recent travels is I love to have access to my own coffee machine in close proximity to where I am! I enjoy access to unlimited coffee in the morning while I am writing.
If we were having coffee I would tell you….I applied for two wonderful opportunities this week and am excited about the possibilities of them! I canceled my AWP trip for next month. I have been writing every day, but not always on Margot. I do have to get back to her story. I have two revision groups now and those are working well for me too! Lots of irons in the writing fire! I love it.
Here are some photos from this week:
If we were having coffee I would recommend:
This Substack post. I found this inspiring to write my own LOVE NOTES in my notebook.
This tarot spread for the Full Moon.
This post and this post about personal writing retreats.
Book: One Italian Summer I read most of this book on the plane back to the US earlier in the week and it was fun! I do love Rebecca Serle’s writing and this book was magical and the perfect plane read.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I am missing my outdoor kitty! Grayson is the little gray striped cat we have been feeding (you have seen photos of her) and I haven’t seen her since before we left for Iceland. She is a love so I am hoping someone took her in and she is living the high life in front of someone’s fireplace.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I am back to a regular fasting schedule. I am tired of being uncomfortable in my body and this way always works for me. The weather had been crappy to get regular walks in. Plus, the fireplace and the snow makes it easy for me to sink into brain mode - writing and reading. And that work needs to get done too. I changed up the routine and it is working. I am back into pants I hadn’t been able to wear for a while. I have a few months to focus and get back to where I need to be by also giving myself some grace too.
I would love to hear from you in the comments even if it is just to say HI!
If we were having coffee I am excited to tell you… a new round of the Bradbury Trio Course begins today! There are 2 spots left and you can snag one today if you hurry! The course will run 4 weeks on the platform WetInk. There will be two themed reading weeks and two writing weeks. Participants will write and share two pieces and give feedback to two other writers.
You are welcome to write whatever form and genre speak to you! The prompts are open enough to accommodate everyone.
I invite you to read more about it here.
I wish you a Happy Sunday full of delights!
A little more about me: Tammy L. Evans is a writer, teacher, runner, and coach living in a tiny house on a peninsula with her husband and adventure cat. Her location device is her loud laugh. You accomplish more by noon than I do all week!
I do look forwards to these Tammy! I have been getting my cards out to do readings for myself. It's interesting how Tarot reading have now started to show up in unexpected places. In Montreal there is an exposition Called "Sorcières". Very unexpected. Hope you are well!
