I call this Writing in the Wild! One of my grooves is to go to the town where That Husband o’ Mine works—about 35 minutes away—and spend the day. I have breakfast somewhere and write or read, then I go to the cutest little library to wander amid the stacks and write for awhile in a sunny nook. I’m looking forward to nicer weather as this library has a really neat outdoor space. Lastly I go to a coffee shop for an afternoon pick me up and scribble some there. There’s a different energy to writing in the wild, sharpens the senses I think.
Hey Tammy, what a great idea! Thanks for the inspiration. I also love your pictures. I've never done this before but I can understand why your prose has more sensory or concrete details in them when you're writing on location.
